What is HaxEE?

HaxEE is an experimental client for Everybody Edits, which is a game made with Flash. It's attempt to bring the game over to the modern system for web-based interactive media referred to as HTML5. It is being developed by community member Joshua Stone (aka TechnoWolf99).

The EE dev team has been working on their own port using Unity, a powerful cross-platform game development tool, but there is one big problem. When projects made in Unity are compiled to be played on the web, the resulting game is often extremely bloated and uses an unreasonable amount of processing power. This is where HaxEE comes in.

As the name suggests, HaxEE is built using the Haxe programming language. It currently uses a custom built HTML5 game engine called Frost, and connects to the PlayerIO multiplayer servers by using their JavaScript SDK's. Once compiled, this architecture results in a faster and much more lightweight game.
